Sand, Sun & Family Fun Contest

OCNJDaily.com, SeaIsleNews.com, SomersPoint.com and Downbeach.com have partnered with Playland’s Castaway Cove and Jilly’s Stores on the Ocean City Boardwalk to bring you the opportunity to win a Family Fun Package that will have the whole family smiling from ear to ear. The Sand, Sun & Family Fun contest consists of $1,000 in Playland’s Castaway Cove tickets, including amusement rides, go-karts and miniature golf.  It also includes a package from Jilly’s featuring two-hour fun cards to Jilly’s Arcades ($60 value), a $25 gift card to any Jilly’s store and one set of Jilly’s refill cups and one box of Jilly’s salt water taffy and other sweets ($100 value). Mayor’s Message: June 25

Mayor Jay Gillian is paying tribute to two distinguished Ocean City residents who died recently, Nick Impagliazzo and Andy Jernee. Mr. Impagliazzo, born in 1924, was a combat veteran of World War II and former Ocean City police sergeant. Mr. Jernee, born in 1927, was a star of the Ocean City High School football team, a Navy veteran and former president of City Council. The Ocean City Tabernacle is excited to welcome Shaunti Feldhahn for the 8:30 a.m. traditional and 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship services on Sunday, June 27. Feldhahn is a groundbreaking social researcher, best-selling author and popular speaker – but a wife and mom first. Car Crash Kills Ocean City Man

An Ocean City man died in a car crash Tuesday evening, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Police Chief Jay Prettyman said in a news release. According to police, at about 6:10 p.m. Ocean City police officers and EMS responded to the intersection of Ninth Street and Bay Avenue for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash. A 2005 Mercury Sable driven by Kevin Farrell, 48, of Somers Point, was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Bay Avenue from Ninth Street when he was struck on the passenger side by a westbound 2018 Jeep Wrangler driven by Ruddy Narvaez Jr., 33, of Galloway. The front seat passenger of the Mercury Sable, David Andrews, 66, of Ocean City, was transported to Shore Medical Center in Somers Point, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said in a release Wednesday...

Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation Surf Fest July 30

With summer fun getting back to a level of normal for most, July in Ocean City will bring people together for a great cause: Amyloidosis awareness and research on Friday, July 30. The Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation (CMAF) is excited to return to Ocean City to host its triple-header of family entertainment, “Surf Fest, Slide for Amyloidosis and Taste of OC,” according to a CMAF news release.

Antique Auto Show, Judy Collins Concert Kick Off Summer Season

Car lovers can watch more than 300 vintage vehicles parade down the Ocean City Boardwalk at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26. The procession will cap off the 66th annual Dave Blyler and Herb Godfrey Memorial Antique and Classic Auto Show and Parade. Before the parade, the antique cars – all at least 25 years old – will be on display on the grounds of the Ocean City Tabernacle at 550 Wesley Avenue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
