New “StoryWalk” to Open Oct. 11

The Ocean City Free Public Library and the Ocean City Environmental Commission have teamed up for a StoryWalk at a new location. Everybody is invited to visit the bicycle path along Haven Avenue from 26th Street to 28th Street to ride along the path while reading "A Day In The Salt Marsh," written by Kevin Kurtz and illustrated by Consie Powell. The StoryWalk will be on display beginning Monday, Oct. 11 and continue through Friday, Nov. 5.

New Owls Arrive at Cape May County Zoo

The Cape May County Zoo is excited to announce the arrival of a breeding pair of Eurasian Eagle Owls. Eurasian Eagle Owls originate from the woodlands, desert and mountainous regions of Northern Africa, Asia and Europe. With a wingspan over 6 feet, they are the largest owl in the world. The Cape May County Zoo's new pair consists of 4-year-old male Quasimodo and 12-year-old female Esmerelda.

OCHS Cross Country Teams Take Sweep

The Ocean City boys and girls cross country teams raced to victory on Tuesday afternoon, defeating both visiting Hammonton High School and ACIT.

Ocean City Boys Soccer Remains Unbeaten

The Ocean City High School boys soccer team won in convincing fashion Monday afternoon, 6-1, versus visiting Oakcrest High School. The win brings the Red Raiders to a perfect 6-0 on the season, while the Oakcrest Falcons drop to 1-4. Leading all scorers on the afternoon was Lambros Koutsfetsoulis, with three goals and an assist.

Jeep Invasion, Table Sales Highlight Weekend in Ocean City

About 500 Jeeps will roll down the Boardwalk on Sunday, Oct. 3 and remain on display in lines that stretch from Fifth Street to 14th Street. The Ocean City NJ Jeep Invasion runs from noon to 5 p.m. The event raises money for local charities, and trophies are awarded to the best Jeeps in various categories. The awards ceremony is set for 4 p.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier.

Fire Department Holds Open House Oct. 7

The Ocean City Fire Department is hosting a free open house on Oct. 7 for the community to enjoy fun activities, while learning about the department and fire safety.

Ocean City Dominates in Shutout Soccer Win

The Ocean City Red Raiders girls soccer team continued its unbeaten streak this season with a 5-0 victory Friday over the visiting Absegami Braves. The win brings Ocean City to 4-0, while Absegami drops to 3-3. Summer Reimet led all scorers with three goals and an assist. Adding to the Raiders scoring were McKenna Chisholm and Joy Slimmer, with one goal each.

Mayor’s Message: Sept. 24

Mayor Jay Gillian said he was honored to take part in the Gold Star Family Dinner on Thursday night at the Ocean City American Legion. The dinner was part of the annual Run for the Fallen, an event that stops in Ocean City and honors New Jersey service members who lost their lives. "I’m proud that Ocean City is part of the route each year and grateful to all the Gold Star Families who have sacrificed so much," Gillian said in his weekly message to the public Friday. American Bible Society’s Whitney Kuniholm to Speak at Ocean City Tabernacle

The Ocean City Tabernacle welcomes Whitney Kuniholm, senior vice president of mission advancement at the American Bible Society, to speak at the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday, Sept.  26. Kuniholm joined the ABS Senior Leadership Team in July 2018, after 16 months of establishing a strong foundation for the $150 million Bicentennial Campaign as director of campaign partnerships.
