Dogs Allowed on Beaches Starting Oct. 1

Dogs will be permitted on the Ocean City beaches starting Thursday, Oct. 1, and continuing through April 30, 2021, according to a local ordinance. Dogs are not allowed on the beach at any time from May through September. For the safety and enjoyment of all beachgoers, please remember that dogs must be leashed at all times. The police department has received a number of complaints in recent weeks about unleashed dogs, the city said in a news release.

City Hall to Have Drop Box for Election Ballots

Mail-in ballots for the Nov. 3 general election have been sent to registered voters in Ocean City, the city announced on Monday. One of the options for returning completed ballots is via a secure drop box located outside the Ninth Street entrance to City Hall (861 Asbury Avenue). This drop box is expected to be delivered on Tuesday, Sept. 29. The box will be open to accept ballots after a security camera is installed on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

O.C. Library Offers Virtual Cooking Class

The Ocean City Free Public Library is hosting a virtual culinary demonstration by best-selling cookbook author Deanna Segrave-Daly. All O.C. Students Now Eligible for Free Meals

Effective immediately and until further notice, all students in the Ocean City school system can receive breakfast and lunch meals at no charge, regardless of the child’s current free/reduced eligibility, the school district announced Thursday. Meals purchased since Sept. 8 will be credited to your child’s account. Any previous balances accrued or any a la carte items purchased will still be on the accounts.
