Ocean City Boardwalk Merchants Seek Summer Help

In just a few short months, summer will be here and visitors will be heading to Ocean City to enjoy the beaches, Boardwalk and downtown. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, however, merchants on the boards have had their share of difficulty finding seasonal help to operate the rides at the amusement parks, make and serve food and sell merchandise. A job fair is planned this weekend by Boardwalk merchants to help them find workers.

Dolphins Stranded on Beaches in Sea Isle

There is an effort under way to save six dolphins stranded on the beach at 52nd street in Sea Isle City. Two other dolphins washed up near 51st Street and are believed dead, authorities said Tuesday. Police, fire and Public Works crews are trying to save the dolphins by pouring sea water on them using hoses and buckets...

Home values for a typical house in Ocean City are on the cusp of being $1 million, according to recently released figures. The market remains robust, with properties in high demand, while the supply is low. Realtors say the resort continues to grow as a popular place for people to raise their families thanks to a good school system, relatively low taxes compared to other shore towns and the desire to live near the beach or bay.

Ocean City Visitors Ready to Welcome Spring

The chilly winds whipped with air temps hovering in the low 40s on the last day of winter. There was more than enough to please shoppers Saturday during Ocean City’s annual “Market Madness,” which brought Boardwalk and downtown merchants together for the third and most successful version of the huge shopping event. The Ocean City Music Pier featured vendor tables from a sampling of more than 30 shops and boutiques from the boards to Asbury Avenue.

Ocean City Homeowner Complains About Trash, Gets Results

Dorie Good went to Thursday’s City Council meeting to talk trash -- literally -- about litter making its way to her Ocean City neighborhood. To back up her claim about the situation, she brought a trash bag filled with litter to show city officials that workers at three homes being built at 40th Street and Central Avenue are not doing a good enough job to clean up their construction debris.
