The Ocean City Business Summit recently took place, bringing together leaders in local government and commerce.

The Summit, now in its 12th year, offered analysis of the 2016 summer season and looked ahead to 2017.

The weather, always a prime factor contributing to the success of area businesses, was reviewed by Meteorologist Dan Skeldon, who offered a long-range forecast for Summer 2017. Skeldon predicted a milder winter and a “warm, dry summer.”

Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michele Gillian, representatives of the Boardwalk Merchant’s Association, OC Tourism Commission, OC Realtors and many individual businesses took part in this annual tradition.

In this video, OCNJ Daily’s Michael DeVlieger interviews some of the participants, to provide the viewer with a highlights package of some of the event’s most memorable moments.

“2016 was a weather-challenged summer, but (visitors) came and they love Ocean City,” Mayor Gillian said. “This is what happens when everyone is working together.”
